Confirmation Formation

Confirmation Formation at St. Margaret Mary Parish is a one-year, 11-session process that begins in September and ends with Confirmation in the Spring. In the Diocese of Rockford, IL, teens may be confirmed as early as 9th grade.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are over 18 and out of high school, and would like to be confirmed in the Catholic Church, please contact the parish office (847) 658-7881 for more information about confirmation preparation for adults.

Confirmation “Need to Know”

Baptismal Certificate: A copy is needed to make the Sacrament of Confirmation.
(If baptized at St. Margaret Mary, please note the date on the registration form so we can verify it)

Sponsor Requirements:

• Must be confirmed in the Catholic church. If married, Marriage should be a valid Catholic marriage.
• Must follow the teachings of the Catholic church.
• 16 years old or older-confirmed in the Catholic Church
• Parents CANNOT be a sponsor.

Note:  The sponsor form needs to be signed by a Church representative from the Parish the sponsor is registered at.

Service Project: 1 Service Project (2 hours) from events the church/parish offers:

(Example-Shamrock Shave, Fish Fry, Feed My Starving Children (2 dates will be on the Confirmation schedule), cleaning the church, decorating the church, yard work on the church grounds.)
